General Information

• Course request instructions for the 20/21 school year, for secondary students, were emailed on Monday. Please submit your child(ren)’s course requests by end of day today, Friday May 15.
• Elementary families – check with your teachers if you don’t already have your child(ren)’s Webex meetings next week.

• High School Year End Schedule May 18-22

• Elementary 
  • Academic Awards – Presented in class WebEx next week
  • Kindergarten Promotion – Wednesday, May 20. Details were emailed to kinder parents on Monday 5/11
• Secondary
  • Schedule for the last week of WebEx meetings will be emailed on Sunday.
  • Academic Awards – Will be published week of May 18. Students will pick up when on campus to check-out.
  • 8th Grade Promotion – Tuesday, May 19. Details were emailed to parents this morning.
  • HS Sports Awards – The announcement of the Male and Female Athlete of the Year, along with Coach of the Year was delayed due to a slowdown in award shipping so they will now be announced next week. 
  • High School Graduation Thursday May 21. Final details will be emailed to families with seniors early next week.

May 5, 2020 is National Teacher Appreciation Day!
We sure appreciate our teachers and will be showing them some love on Tuesday. If you’d like to send a card (or gift card) to your child’s teacher(s), you can send something to their email address or send it to the school address and we’ll be sure they receive it.

2020/21 Middle and High School Course Requests
Instructions for phase one of course requests for the upcoming school year were emailed to 5th-11th grade students and parents yesterday, April 30. Please carefully follow the instructions to be prepared for phase two (next week). Course questions may be emailed to our Academic Advisor Mrs. Escovedo, eescovedo@fresnochristian.com.

Next Week

• The city-wide shelter in place order has been extended through May 31 so the alternative model of education will need to continue through the end of our school year. This information is new today so administration will be in contact with our community by early next week with the latest information pertaining to the end of the 2019-2020 school year.

• Schedules for WebEx classes and office hours for all grade levels will be emailed on Sunday afternoon. The elementary schoolwork drop-off and pick-up schedule will be included in that email for your reference.

End of Year Events 
The end of the school year is approaching which means it’s time for awards and recognition. Students will be recognized in creative ways this year! See below for a list of events in the planning process:

• Elementary Academic Awards – Presented in class WebEx week of May 18

• Kinder Promotion – Wednesday, May 20

• Secondary Academic Awards – Will be published week of May 18

• 8th Grade Promotion – Tuesday, May 19 (Format TBD)

• HS Sports Awards – The Male and Female Athlete of the Year, along with Coach of the Year will be announced by the last week of school – stay tuned!

• CSF Awards were given to seniors at Josten’s Pickup – Names will be included in the graduation program

Weekly Chapel
We will be continuing our Friday morning online chapels until we can be together again. Join us each Friday at 10am on Instagram Live or Facebook Live as we worship with ‘G’ and Mr. Falk shares a brief message.

Next Steps

• We are prayerful as officials begin talking about reopening the community, that it will be safe to do so sooner rather than later!
• Elementary schoolwork drop-off and pick-up continues on April 21 and 22 per the usual schedule (at the end of this email for your reference). The location will most likely be in the Jackie Johnson room again as the church’s feeding program continues across our city and they are utilizing the PC Gym for food prep and sorting.

Auction 2020

• Auction 2020 Online was a huge success! Thanks to all of you who donated, bid, shared and helped in any way. Most items have already been picked up too!

Town Hall Meetings

• Jeremy will host two Town Hall meetings online next week. The meetings will be held via WebEx and will take place at 6:30pm on both Wednesday 4/22 and Thursday 4/23.

Going Forward

• Per Jeremy’s video message, our current alternative learning model will continue through the end of April.
• As the current health situation is monitored, updates about returning to campus will be shared before the end of the month.
• Elementary schoolwork drop-off and pick-up will resume on April 14 and 15 per the published schedule.
• Secondary Webex classes and all level Webex office hours and activities will be updated and you will receive an email with the links on Sunday, April 12 for the week of April 13.

Elementary Students:

• This week’s drop off and pick up in the PC Gym was a success. It was good to see so many of your smiling faces!
• Next week’s schedule will be the same on Tuesday 3/31 and Wednesday 4/1. See the 3-20-20 post on the FCS website if you need to refer to your time to be on campus.

Secondary Students:

• Assignments continue through Schoology and/or Google Classroom.
• Online class sessions and office hours for new content and assistance.

Re-enrollment Reminder From the Registrar’s Office:

We are planning for the 20-21 school year! Re-enrollment is underway and you, our existing families, have first priority to enroll your children.

• The deadline to return the forms has been extended to Friday, April 3rd.
• If you have misplaced your forms, Kerry can send or email you another.
• Forms/deposits can be dropped off in person at the times listed below, returned by mail, or scanned/emailed.
• We will open enrollment to non-FCS families after Easter break.

Please contact Kerry Roberts if you need any assistance including but not limited to:

1. I can’t find my re-enrollment form(s) – please send me another!
2. We are having a challenge coming up with the $100 tuition deposit.

The registrar’s office will be open next Monday, March 30 through Wednesday, April 1 from 8am to noon each day.
