Dear Families,

Happy Spring to one and all!!! It is beginning to feel like summer, however, is great to see all the flowers blooming and leaves budding on trees that announces Spring.. It is a great reminder of the new life we have in Christ. Just a reminder to send a water bottle with your child as we try and stay hydrated throughout the day.

SAT – We will begin first thing Monday morning, March 23rd with testing. We will test from 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM daily. Please be sure your child is adequately rested and has had a nutritious breakfast. There will be NO parent helpers this week.

EASTER CELEBRATION – We will have a celebration on Friday, March 27th at 12:30 PM. We have all the items needed for the party. All are welcome to attend.

BIBLE – We will finish our Easter unit, studying the death and resurrection of Jesus.

NEATNESS – We continue to focus on making our work neat. I am pointing out to the children samples of neat work. We are doing lots of encouragement in this area. I appreciate your support in this area as we together emphasize how important neat and careful work is. Many thanks!

REPORT CARDS – Report cards will be in the work envelope on Monday, March 23rd.

BOOK BAGS – The books that came home in the book bags on Friday, March 20th will not be due until Friday, April 10th. I will NOT be sending books home on Friday, March 27th. If your child reads through them quickly, they can choose books from home to read during our firs We also will not go to the library on that day, because of our celebration. However, you can send back the library book and a high school TA will pick them up and deliver them to the library.

SHOW AND TELL – This week will be Team B.

POWER GRADE – We are experiencing a great deal of difficulty with Power Grade. That being said, scores may not be entered right away. We are in the process of securing an off campus sight for the server so that it works more efficiently. This should be accomplished by the time we come back in April.

TROOP LALA – You will see a flyer with Lala Brigg’s picture on it announcing “The Walk For A Cure” for Diabetes. If you are free, it would be a great support to the Briggs family and join them at Woodward Park on Sat. March 28th. You will arrive at 9:15 AM and refreshments will be served. Team colors are red, white and blue. All the details are in the flyer.

FIELD TRIPS -We are taking two field trips in the upcoming weeks. The first one will be to Great Harvest Bread Company and Waterhouse Animal Hospital on April 9th. We will leave at 9:30 AM, traveling by bus and return by 1:00 PM. The children will bring a lunch and we will have a picnic in the park behind Waterhouse after we’re done. Our second trip will be our annual trip to Hanford on the train on May 13th. We will leave at 9:15 AM and return by 1:00 PM. We will need drivers to take us to the train station and back from Hanford. After vacation, I will have a sign-up sheet outside my door for that trip.
